From Always Tired to Full of Life

I'm Jakub Misiek aka Kuba, Detoxification Specialist, and I understand where you're coming from as I've been there myself! 

I used to feel sluggish. 

I couldn't understand why I was tired. 

Why did my stomach randomly ache? 

Why did I have to run to the bathroom when I'd be out with my friends?

I was always a runner and I wanted to get fitter and stronger, but instead I began to get injured and it seemed like I was just getting older and passed my peak at only 26.

Inside, I was frustrated. 

Why did everyone around me seem fine? 

Why was I the one fighting sleep in class? 

Why couldn't I just feel good all the time? 

Then one day I was shaken up with the worse news of my life!

I was with my dad when he started getting horrible stomach aches. 

He would try to eat his meals quickly, because he knew that once the pain came he was out for the count. I mean, he would lie on the couch holding himself in agony. 

This was during the Christmas holidays. 

I went back to my university town in January, and after less then two weeks of being back I got the phone call from my brother. 

Being the tough older bro, I was shocked to hear him cry for the first time, barely able to contain himself as he uttered with a shaky voice, "Dad has stage four stomach and esophagus cancer."

My dad passed only two short months later...

I was devastated. 

My best friend all of a sudden left us. 

The worse part was watching my dad suffer. 

I realized that we had no idea how our bodies work. 

We were completely disconnected from nature, not having a clue to the effects of diet and lifestyle. 

While I was watching my dad weak in the hospital and then dying at home, I began to educate myself. 


I read a book called "The Crazy Sexy Diet" by Kris Carr, a woman who was diagnosed with terminal cancer but somehow not only survived, but lives to thrive and feel better than ever! 

It turns out, she just changed her diet and lifestyle. 

I learned about the benefits of an alkaline diet and the detriment of an acidic one. 

And I realized that I, like my dad, was eating acidic foods! 

I immediately started making drastic changes to my diet. 

I started making more smoothies, juices and salads. 

I opted for brown rice instead of white, sweet potatoes instead of regular ones. 

I weaned off the meat and dairy products and kept learning about nutrition and health. 

After seeing so many examples of healthy people who are conscious about their diet, the next thing you know, I was eating a principally 'raw' fruit and vegetable diet. 

Although I went through an amazing transformation, I struggled to stay 'raw' and eat only the healthy foods that I wanted. 

Let's face it, no one around me was eating this way and temptation is on every corner!  

I then had an epiphany and set out to do something drastic!

I realized that changing your diet and lifestyle is not so straight forward because we are brought up in an unhealthy world and our bodies are made up of what we have been eating our entire lives! 

Change was not something to achieve overnight, but a slower transition than I thought. 

I realized that I had to cleanse my body of the lifetime of accumulated toxins and prepare it for a new way of eating. 

I had to change my taste buds. I had to get used to fresh, whole foods. 

I came across John Rose who talks about juice cleansing... except he was talking about longterm juice fasts that take months. 

I got super excited and set out to do a three month juice cleanse! 

This was life transforming! 

My body finally went through some deep cleansing and I released a lot of toxins.
